Stopsky's is a small restaurant on Mercer Island. I went there for lunch and enjoyed their lunch special, half corned beef sandwich on (GF bread) with a simple green salad.
LUNCH SPECIAL
- Half sandwich and a cup of soup or simple green salad (no substitutions)11
- Choice of pastrami, corned beef, roast beef, turkey, egg or tuna salad (Served M-F 11am-2pm)
I was surprised by the thickness of the sandwich, they did not skimp on corned beef! The amount of corned beef was great but the gluten free bread they used was far too delicate to be able to hold all of the weight of the corned beef in the sandwich. The bread fell apart after two bites and I had to take some corned beef out of the sandwich to lighten it up.
Evaluation:
Stopsky's = Good
- there is room for improvement on the type of bread they use
- they should offer some gluten free soup options as there were none on the day I visited.
